Alexander Rybak the musician, actor and composer

Alexander Rybak is a talented young musician, actor and composer from Norway. He is originally from the former Soviet Union, now Belarus where he was born on 13th of May 1986 and moved at the age four to Norway with his parents.

His parents are Natalia Valentinovna Rybak and Igor Alexandrovich Rybak, both of them are well known musician in Norway, his mother as a pianist and his father as a violinist. Alexander now plays on both this instruments.

On May 16, 2009 Alexander Rybak won The Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with his song Fairytale. He broke a record with 387 points while the song in second place “Is it True” which was contribution from Iceland got 218 points. After winning the competition he said “I won because I had a story to tell.”
